NARC had a great time of it at our Field Day this year. Made a few contacts, gave a lot of folks the opportunity to operate HF, had a number of nice visitors, and one who was not so nice. Believe his name was Murphy. One of the two air conditioners on the EmmComm trailer decided to quit, and to say it was hot in there was a major understatement. Subject to check, it looks like we managed to make a total of 258 contacts, 203 of them on phone and 55 on CW. We made contacts on 7 bands, 75 meters through 2 meters. The race was on between the 40 meter phone station and the 20 meter phone station, with 20 meters just barely winning with 90 Q's to 87. Very close. The green monster worked great, and held the Mosley 3 element tri-bander up above the aircraft hangers all around it. And having the Pilot's Lounge right next to the trailer was an absolute life saver! Many thanks to Bill, WK5F, for setting that up. As usual, it took a lot of hard work and cooperation from many different people to pull this off. I hope to have an article in our next club newsletter (due out tomorrow) to expand on this. Many thanks to all who helped, and there were many. One person cannot do it alone. DE AE5P
